M.A.I.N.
Maine Association of Interdependent Neighborhoods
M.A.I.N. was formed in December of 1980 to create a statewide voice for low-income concerns. We are a coalition of low-income individuals and organizations working together to gain control of our living conditions.
M.A.I.N. is a coalition of people
Advocating for our common needs
Sharing our resources to support each other
Strengthening local groups
Learning how to participate in and influence the political process
Working together to gain economic equality for everyone
Creating opportunities to build self-esteem
Encouraging everyone to get involved in the decision making that affects our lives
Learn more about our work by reading November 2003 Poverty Conference Report.
Memorials to our dear friends and MAIN members Judy Guay and Bob Philbrook.
As a follow-up to the conference, we've posted some photos of MAIN members hard at work in the State House. Also, you can provide feedback on the event, by going to Fall Conference Wrap-up page and click on "Log in to Add Comments" near the bottom of the page. Your feedback is welcomed and appreciated!
