II.  Legislative and public policy updates:  10:30 am

Maine Equal Justice will update us on:

  • State supplemental budget;
  • Bad General Assistance bill; and
  • Other legislation.

Share information on legislation that you are working on.

III.  MAIN Leadership Team:  11:30 am

Report on MAIN 2012 Outreach & Action Campaign:

  • Outreach to members on legislative & organizational work including Working Retreat on May 10th;
  • MAIN testifies against bad General Assistance proposals in budget;
  • MAIN leader, Tammy Trask, speaks at Rally for Human Needs organized by OCCUPY and Bring Our War Dollars Home;

Be an educated voter!  We'll take 10 minutes to create a list of questions that MAIN members can ask candidates for public office.  Bring your questions to add to the list!  For examples:

o   Do you support funding MaineCare for low-wage working parents and very poor childless adults?

o   Do you support funding child care subsidies for low-wage working parents?

  • Join in the fun and action by taking on a simple task!

No regular MAIN meeting will be held in May.  See May 10th Working Retreat below.
